Initial situation
Stadtwerke Stuttgart manages numerous projects and successfully uses monday.com for this purpose. However, various departments are involved in large-scale neighbourhood construction projects that require complex heat, electricity and infrastructure planning. These projects require centralised overall project management, in which all stakeholders and their progress are clearly recorded in one system. Until now, this was not possible - instead, such projects were mainly managed using Excel, which led to inefficiencies and a lack of transparency.
Solution
As the customer was already using monday.com successfully in many areas, it was obvious that the platform should also be introduced for large-scale projects. Instead of individual boards for each project, however, a comprehensive board structure was developed that comprises an entire board bundle for each project.the solution comprises four core areas:
- Project management for major projects - Structured planning and control of heating, electricity and infrastructure projects with a clearly organised project portfolio and clear responsibilities.
- Creation of clear workflows - standardisation of processes for smooth implementation that function uniformly across all departments involved.
- Templates - Efficient design of recurring processes to speed up projects through reusable structures.
- Collaboration with external partners - optimised communication and integration of external service providers into the overall process.
The various boards were defined as templates so that each new major project can be created in a standardised way directly via the project overview. This ensures a standardised project management approach across all neighbourhood projects.
